Codex for (almost) everything | OpenAI

We’re releasing a major update to Codex, making it a more powerful partner for the more than 3 million developers who use it every week to accelerate work across the full software development lifecycle. Codex can now operate your computer alongside you, work with more of the tools and apps you use everyday, generate images, remember your preferences, learn from previous actions, and take on ongoing and repeatable work. The Codex app also now includes deeper support for developer workflows, like reviewing PRs, viewing multiple files & terminals, connecting to remote devboxes via SSH, and an in-app browser to make it faster to iterate on frontend designs, apps, and games.  With background computer use, Codex can now use all of the apps on your computer by seeing, clicking, and typing with its own cursor. Multiple agents can work on your Mac in parallel, without interfering with your own work in other apps. For developers, this is helpful for iterating on frontend changes, testing apps, or working in apps that don’t expose an API. Codex is also beginning to work natively with the web. The app now includes an in-app browser, where you can comment directly on pages to provide precise

Livid: $10 Million Backing For Video Hosting Platform Targeting Vimeo Users With Migration Tool

Livid, a newly launched ad-free video hosting platform for creators and small businesses, has secured $10 million in committed funding from StreamYard co-founders Geige Vandentop and Dan Briggs. The investment comes as the company introduces a new migration tool designed to help users move their video libraries away from Vimeo amid anticipated price increases. Alongside the funding, Livid debuted L.O.V.E., short for Livid One-click Video Exporter, a free tool that lets users bulk-export entire Vimeo libraries, including folders and metadata. The tool is designed to eliminate the need for manual downloads and re-uploads while allowing users to preserve folder structures and sharing permissions when migrating directly to Livid. The company positions itself as a response to what it describes as a recurring pattern following platform acquisitions, where prices rise, and users face barriers to leaving due to content lock-in. Livid emphasizes data portability as a core principle, enabling users to retain full control over their video libraries without adopting its platform. Livid’s founding team includes former StreamYard employees, many of whom experienced similar changes following that company’s acquisition. The team built Livid as an alternative for users seeking more transparent pricing and greater control over their content. The company’s flagship

How the WTA balances purpose and returns: Seven takeaways from CEO Portia Archer

Women’s sports are no longer viewed solely through the lens of progress or purpose. Now,  they are increasingly being recognised as high-growth, high-value commercial properties, and few organisations better embody that shift than the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). At SportsPro New York in March, WTA chief executive Portia Archer outlined how the organisation is building on more than 50 years of legacy while evolving into a modern, global sports media business. With over one billion fans, more than 50 tournaments across 26 countries and record-breaking commercial deals, the world’s preeminent women’s tennis tour is operating from a position of strength. Whether it’s through progressive player benefits or bold commercial partnerships, Archer also highlighted how the WTA is positioning itself at the intersection of purpose and profitability. However, this is not about choosing between the two. Instead, the WTA is demonstrating how values-driven initiatives can coexist with, and even accelerate, commercial growth. Recent examples include a landmark sponsorship deal with Mercedes-Benz and the introduction of a maternity fund programme sponsored by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). At the same time, the organisation is navigating broader industry challenges, including fragmentation, an evolving media landscape and the need to balance access with

StreamYard Founders Put $10 Million Behind Livid, the Startup Helping Vimeo Users …

Published Wednesday, April 8, 2026 | 6 a.m. DOVER, Del.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Apr 8, 2026-- Livid , a new ad-free video hosting platform for creators and small businesses, today announced $10 million in committed funding from Geige Vandentop and Dan Briggs, co-founders of StreamYard, the live-streaming platform they built from scratch before they sold it to Hopin for $250 million, and Bending Spoons eventually swallowed it. Alongside the funding, Livid launched L.O.V.E. (Livid One-click Video Exporter), a free migration tool that bulk-exports entire Vimeo video libraries, including folders, metadata and more. “We're all about building products that people genuinely love – that's what we built at StreamYard,” said Vandentop. “It was brutal to watch Bending Spoons acquire our parent company, fire virtually all the employees, raise prices and upset a lot of users. When they acquired Vimeo, it was clear this was going to happen again.” “We’re committing $10 million because we have a ton of experience building video products and knew we could quickly get a world-class team together,” said Briggs. “That team, composed largely of former StreamYard employees, built Livid as the great escape for Vimeo users who will soon face the Bending Spoons playbook.” Livid is all about building
