WhatsApp founder Jan Koum’s 328-foot superyacht Moonrise is turning heads off Mykonos

A giant private yacht connected to one of the technology world's richest people is getting noticed off Mykonos, Greece, for reasons that go beyond its polished look. Moonrise, Jan Koum's 328-foot superyacht, has become the kind of recurring summer spectacle that fits easily into Mykonos, a hotspot already filled with luxury boats and upscale tourism. What happened? The nearly 100-meter Moonrise belongs to Jan Koum, the Ukrainian-born American billionaire who co-founded WhatsApp before the company was sold to Facebook, now Meta, in a multibillion-dollar deal. Built by Dutch shipyard Feadship and delivered in 2020, Greek Reporter says Moonrise stands out with a gray hull, a vertical bow, long horizontal windows, and a multi-deck exterior that is hard to miss on open water. There is room on board for 16 guests in eight cabins, along with housing for a crew of 32. The yacht also includes an owner's private deck, cinema, fitness room, massage space, salon, beach club, swim platform, helipad, and water sports equipment. Two MTU engines help the yacht reach a top speed of 18.5 knots, adding serious power to what is already an unmistakable symbol of extreme wealth. Why does it matter? Even with design features intended to

Just By Mowing a Lawn, Social Media Star Raises $685,000 for Bereaved Senior Who Fell …

Debbie and Spencer in the overgrown lawn – credit, SB Mowing, via GoFundMe Who knew so much power lay behind the simple act of mowing the lawn. That’s what Spencer from SB Mowing, the prolific social media account, has shown us before, and is now showing us again as his yardwork channels $685,000 to a woman who had no money for rent or groceries. In a video posted on his YouTube channel on Friday, Spencer introduced his followers to Debbie. She, like most of his beneficiaries, has a terribly overgrown lawn and no money to hire anyone to take care of it. In fact, Debbie—like Beth in a previous video GNN reported on—has no money at all. “Debbie has had one of the hardest stretches of life imaginable, and she’s been carrying most of it alone,” SB Mowing said in a GoFundMe. It started when her husband was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and given 90 days to live. Debbie had to be his caregiver until he passed away. During her grief, a contractor she’d hired for tree work took a $2,000 deposit and never showed up. “A neighbor wrecked her car and didn’t pay for it. She fell 3 months

New WhatsApp feature: text messages that can only be read once

Testing of an entirely new feature has begun in the version of the messenger being developed for the iOS operating system. As reported by BAKU.WS, according to the GSMArena portal, the new feature will allow users to send text messages that can only be read once. To use this feature, users need to long-press the send button and activate the "Send for one-time viewing" option. Once opened, the message will be automatically deleted. It is worth noting that previously in WhatsApp, the one-time viewing mode was only available for photos, videos, and voice messages. With the new update, this capability will extend to text messages as well. The feature, which began testing in the Android version at the beginning of the month, is now undergoing an internal testing phase on the iOS platform as well. Self-deleting text messages will be available for use in both personal and group chats. However, this feature will not be available in channels. At the moment, the new feature has not yet been introduced in the public beta version and is being tested by WhatsApp developers.

WhatsApp continues testing “view once” text messages on iOS – GSMArena.com news

WhatsApp has started testing "view once" messages on iOS. As the name implies, these will be messages that you send and can only be viewed once by the recipient. After they viewed them once, the messages will disappear. To enable the functionality you will just need to long-tap on the Send button, which will then present you with the option to "Send as view once". Engage that and you're done. WhatsApp initially started testing this feature on Android earlier this month, and now the same is happening on iOS. The view once option is already available for photos, videos, and voice messages, but now WhatsApp is working on expanding it to text messages as well. With that, everything will be covered. View once text messages will work in both one-to-one chats and group chats. They won't however be available in channels. The new feature isn't currently available in a public beta, it's just being internally tested by WhatsApp developers. This new view once functionality is different from what was uncovered in May - that feature allows you to have a message 'expire' after a set amount of time. The one revealed today just lets people view a message once and

WhatsApp working on yet another ephemeral feature on iOS – 9to5Mac

A few weeks ago, a WhatsApp beta build revealed work on disappearing messages that vanish after they’re read. Now, WhatsApp is developing another ephemeral messaging feature. Here are the details. Currently, WhatsApp’s disappearing messages setting officially supports timers for 24 hours, 7 days, and 90 days. With the new option, which has yet to roll out broadly, users will also be able to set new messages to vanish after they’ve been read. Now, WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is working on yet another ephemeral messaging feature. Although it isn’t available to beta testers yet, the feature will let users send view-once text messages, expanding an option that is already available for photos, videos, and voice notes. From WABetaInfo: After typing a message in the chat bar, users will be able to set the view-once option by long-pressing the Send button. This action will present a dropdown menu with the option “Send as view once”. Once sent, the recipient can open the message once before it becomes inaccessible. The feature will be available in

WhatsApp introduces voice and video calls in group chats on the web version | Caliber.Az

17 June 2026 01:40 This year, WhatsApp developers began testing voice and video calling features in the web version of the messaging platform. While the functionality has not yet been officially released, its logical next step is already underway — the introduction of these calling features to group chats. Some users of the WhatsApp Web beta version have received notifications that group chats with up to 32 participants now support voice calls, video calls, and screen sharing, according to reports from WABetaInfo . Starting a group call in WhatsApp Web works in much the same way as in a private chat. Users simply open a group conversation and look for the call button at the top of the chat window. After clicking it, they can choose between a voice or video call and join the session. It is also possible to select specific group members to participate in the call rather than automatically including everyone in the chat. As with the mobile app, WhatsApp says that group voice and video calls on the web platform are protected by end-to-end encryption and support call invitation links. Users can join the WhatsApp Web beta programme through the web app’s settings menu. However
