Cincinnati Athletics and UMCincy Announce Partnership

CINCINNATI – University of Cincinnati Athletics and Cincinnati-based UMCincy announced on Monday a significant long-term partnership through the 2027-2028 athletic season. UMCincy will serve as the Official Mortgage Partner of Cincinnati Football and Cincinnati Baseball. The partnership was facilitated by Cincy Sports Partners, the Bearcats’ in-house sponsorship team. Through the partnership, UMCincy will launch Bearcat Mortgage, which will allow all UC faculty, staff, alumni and UC Health employees to qualify for a $1,500 closing cost credit on their home purchase with UMCincy. The program is available on all residential loan products offered through UMCincy, including conventional, FHA, VA, jumbo, renovation, and investment property loans. There is no restriction on property location. UC community members buying a home anywhere Swift Home Loans is licensed can take advantage of the credit through the end of 2026, but may be extended. Specific program and credits are applied at loan application. “We are thrilled to partner with UM Cincy,” said Ryan Holmes, President of Cincy Sports Partners. “This partnership reflects the values we work towards maintaining in this department as we support Bearcats on and off the field — from student-athletes and staff members to alumni and their families.” "This partnership will give us

Waite Park Man in Custody After Sartell Shooting – KNSI

(KNSI) – A 24-year-old Waite Park man is in custody after a shooting in Sartell Sunday morning and a brief manhunt. Sartell Public Safety Director Brandon Silgjord said Jakob Dylan Mohr turned himself in voluntarily and was taken into custody at around 11:50 a.m. Investigators had been searching for Mohr since earlier in the morning, when they say he fired multiple shots at another driver and then fled the scene. According to Silgjord, the Sartell Police Department responded to a report from a man who said he had been shot while driving. The victim told officers he had been traveling through St. Cloud when he noticed a vehicle following him closely and driving aggressively. Both vehicles continued northbound on Highway 15 out of St. Cloud before the victim exited onto County Road 120 in an attempt to get away. Near Sam’s Club, the suspect vehicle pulled alongside the victim’s car, and the driver fired multiple shots. One round struck the victim, who was able to call 911 after the suspect fled. The victim is being treated for his injuries and is expected to survive. Investigators later located the suspect vehicle at a bar in Sauk Rapids, though Mohr was not

RBC Heritage: Scottie Scheffler flies into contention but Matthew Fitzpatrick extends lead at the top

Matt Fitzpatrick had a slow start that brought Scottie Scheffler back into the mix Saturday until holing two shots from off the green on the back nine that sent him to a three-under 68 and a three-shot lead in the RBC Heritage. Scheffler, the world's No 1 player who won at Harbour Town two years ago, was seven shots behind going into the third round and surged into contention with five birdies through six holes. He finished by smashing a nine-iron from 196 with the wind at his back to 10 feet for a final birdie and a seven-under 64, enough to briefly tie Fitzpatrick for the lead. Just not for long. “Best And Worst Of Twitter”: 33 Screenshots From X That Are Funnier Than They Should Be

There is so much noise and content on social media these days that it takes something really different to make you stop scrolling and stare. Sometimes it's a random, chaotic tweet so ‘out there’ that someone else just has to screenshot and reshare it elsewhere. For your amusement (and confusion!), we’re featuring ‘The Best And Worst Of Twitter 3,’ an online group that shares some of the weirdest and funniest posts that people have ever made on X. Somewhat ironically, the group itself is on Facebook. Scroll down to step outside of your comfort zone for a good laugh. The downside of X, as many people who have visited the platform recently might tell you, is just how polarizing and toxic it has become since Elon Musk's $44 billion acquisition of Twitter in 2022. It’s not a very pleasant place to spend much time in. As The New Statesman stresses, Musk’s X-integrated AI chatbot Grok was recently used to create inappropriate deepfake images of real women and children without their consent. The chatbot was, eventually, amended after mass outrage. However, as Le Monde points out, French prosecutors suspect that Musk may have allegedly encouraged controversy over deepfakes on X to

French soldier killed by Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, Macron says – The Jerusalem Post

By JERUSALEM POST STAFF APRIL 18, 2026 15:22 Updated: APRIL 18, 2026 15:43 A French UNIFIL soldier was killed, and three others were wounded during an attack in southern Lebanon, French President Emmanuel Macron announced in an X/Twitter post on Saturday. "Everything suggests that responsibility for this attack lies with Hezbollah," Macron wrote. "France demands that the Lebanese authorities immediately arrest the perpetrators and take their responsibilities alongside UNIFIL." Macron identified the soldier as Sgt. First Class Florian Montorio of the 17th Parachute Engineer Regiment from Montauban, France. Three other UNIFIL soldiers were wounded in the attack, Macron added, and all of them have been evacuated to a nearby hospital. UNIFIL acknowledged the attack in an X/Twitter post on Saturday, saying that the attack was perpetrated by "non-state actors." Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey breaks down his thought process when he laid off 40% of … – Fortune

While some tech leaders shy away from admitting their job cuts are related to AI, Block CEO Jack Dorsey pointed to the advanced tech in cutting 40% of his staffers. Dorsey, who also founded Bluesky and Twitter (acquired by Elon Musk and renamed to X), is pulling back the curtain on a major layoff decision that hit a tipping point last December. At the end of 2025, Dorsey and fellow Block leaders headed home for the holidays and tinkered with AI tools. And straight away, they recognized models like Anthropic’s Opus 4.6 and OpenAI’s Codex 5.3 were more powerful than before; reconvening with his team after the break, they agreed the company would not look the same, or be the same size, moving forward in the era of AI. “We just did this exercise of, ‘Okay, so what is the minimal number of people that we would need to keep the service up 100%?’” Dorsey said recently on Sequoia Capital’s Long Strange Trip podcast. “Next, ‘What is the minimal number of people that we would need to be to fully be in compliance with our regulators?’” he continued. “Then third, ‘What is the minimal set of folks that we need

Bluesky down: Twitter competitor not working amid major outage – The Independent

Bluesky has gone down in what appears to be a major outage. The X competitor, which surged in popularity in the wake of Elon Musk’s purchase of what was then Twitter, is refusing to let users log in or to show them posts. Some users struggled to log in at all, while others could only see blank posts instead of the usual feed of updates. The problems were prevalent across the morning, according to tracking website Down Detector. They appeared to be reported across the world. Bluesky operates an official status page which is built to give updates on outages, but that also appeared to be affected by the problems. The site was originally launched in 2019, as part of Twitter, with a view to making the site less centralised. The two sites were split after the purchase by Elon Musk in 2022, and it launched a year later. Since then, it has become a popular alternative to what has now been re-named X, especially among users who object to Musk’s political views and the changes he has made to the service.

Sondrup Signs With the Boilermakers – Purdue Athletics

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Head coach Matt Painter has announced that Jamyn Sondrup has signed his Big Ten Athletics Scholarship Agreement and is officially a member of the Boilermakers’ basketball program. Sondrup signed with the Class of 2026, but is deferring to the Class of 2028 as he will take a two-year mission trip and will not join the Boilermaker program until the 2028-29 season. Sondrup, a 6-foot, 9-inch power forward from Springville, Utah, becomes the fifth member of the class to sign with the Boilermakers, joining previously-announced commitments Sinan Huan, Jacob Webber, Rivers Knight and Luke Ertel. Sondrup’s commitment moves Purdue’s class to No. 7 nationally via 247Sports and No. 8 via ESPN. Sondrup is ranked No. 134 by 247Sports and seventh in the state of Utah. He is the fourth top-150 player to sign in the current class. Sondrup picked the Boilermakers over offers from Washington, BYU, Ole Miss and Utah. Last summer, Sondrup averaged 13.8 points and 5.4 rebounds at the EYBL Peach Jam and averaged 17.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks this past season for Springville. He finished his scholastic career with more than 1,600 points and 900 rebounds. Purdue will welcome back every available
