X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter, appears to have begun ramping up efforts to sell disused user handles, kicking off a program previously signaled by billionaire owner Elon Musk. Emails obtained by Forbes reveal that a team within the company, known as the @Handle Team, has begun work on a handle marketplace for the purchase of account names left unused by the people who originally registered them. In at least some cases, X/Twitter has emailed solicitations to potential buyers requesting a flat fee of $50,000 to initiate a purchase. The emails, which Forbes agreed not to publish in their entirety to protect the anonymity of their recipients, came from active X employees and noted that the company recently made updates to its @handle guidelines, process and fees. Giving only six hours of prior notice, Studio Ghibli has shut down its main X (formerly Twitter) account. Per SoraNews24, @JP_Ghibli informed its 1.8 million followers that it would be shutting down on Nov. 3, 12:00 am (JST), leaving Ghibli's official North American account and the Ghibli Park account as the company's only remaining X channels. The Kentucky Wildcats cruised past Kentucky State in their final exhibition game, winning 99-53. Now, the real fun begins next Monday night. It seemed like everyone on the roster had a chance to shine during the game; Justin Edwards started off scoring 10 of Kentucky’s first 12 points. Then it was DJ Wagner scoring 12 first-half points to lead all scorers. Tre Mitchell started off hot in the second half, hitting three 3’s before the first TV timeout. Kentucky also flirted with going the entire game without a single turnover but unfortunately committed their first turnover with around 10 minutes left in the second half. It was a game of significant improvement for the Wildcats, looking more comfortable than they did last Friday against Georgetown College. They played well-rounded basketball and played to their strengths while also playing smart basketball — a good sign for a young team with a ton of talent.
