Twitter Employees Thought Elon Musk Was Going to Self-Harm After He Was Booed …

If there’s a single takeaway from Elon Musk’s disastrous takeover of Twitter, it’s that the South African snowflake would have an absolute meltdown if he ever did an open mic. It’s been over one year since Musk, compelled by legal force, followed through with a $44 billion acquisition of Twitter. In that time, the social media company lost over half its value and 16% of its daily active user base as advertisers ran for the hills and conspiracy theorists, disinformation agents and racist, sexist and anti-Semitic hate mongers ran rampant with their newfound lack of accountability and moderation. In his new book, Breaking Twitter, acclaimed author Ben Mezrich argues that Musk’s mental health has seen a deterioration similar to his net worth since taking the reins of his favorite social media platform, arguing, “Not only did (Musk) destroy this sort of global town hall, but he destroyed himself in the process.” Breaking Twitter details Musk’s downward spiral of erratic decision-making and alarming outbursts that coincide and correlate with the decline of Twitter’s financial health, a breakdown which Mezrich believes started after an incident from last December in which Musk, fresh off a round of layoffs at his newly acquired company, made a surprise appearance

One of the largest mental health organizations serving LGBTQ+ youth is leaving X, the social media service formerly known as Twitter. The Trevor Project announced Thursday that the nonprofit is closing its account on X, citing “increasing hate and vitriol... targeting the LGBTQ community.”“LGBTQ young people are regularly victimized at the expense of their mental health, and X’s removal of certain moderation functions makes it more difficult for us to create a welcoming space for them on this platform,” the nonprofit said in a statement on the platform. The Trevor Project noted that it will maintain a presence on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn.Over the past two decades, the Trevor Project has provided a 24-hour crisis line and a social network for LGBTQ+ people between the ages of 13 and 24.Stakes are “just too high” for the group to continue its relationship with X, a spokesperson for the organization told HuffPost. Falcons Twitter reacts to Arthur Smith's 'musical chairs' comment – Falcons Wire

The Atlanta Falcons have lost five of their last seven games after starting the season with a 2-0 record. As things continue to trend in the wrong direction, head coach Arthur Smith has faced increased scrutiny. Whether it’s criticism of his play-calling or tight-lipped demeanor when it comes to revealing injury information, Smith is starting to get under the fans’ skin. On Wednesday, the Falcons head coach talked about Bijan Robinson’s usage, the quarterback carousel and his own tendency to protect players when it comes to revealing information. Falcons HC Arthur Smith on the QBs: "We're not going to play musical chairs." Whoever they go with after the bye will likely be the quarterback the rest of the way. — Michael Rothstein (@mikerothstein) November 8, 2023 Here's the full question/response 👇 "So many things that go into it. It's not always on the QB. Sometimes it's the matchups, it's the way things are trending, but I think in the end, it'll all work itself out… But they're completely different situations in the last year." https://t.co/pssqXCTsjj pic.twitter.com/gXZodef9Kx — Kelly Price (@thekellyprice) November 8, 2023 More from Falcons head coach Arthur Smith on the matter: "I've got a lot of flaws, but

Kahleah Copper blasts Twitter food recommendations: 'I can't trust y'all!'

Kahleah Copper. Twitter can be a source of great recommendations, but they sometimes don’t live up to what’s expected. Kahleah Copper, a forward for the WNBA’s Chicago Sky who’s in Atlanta for a U.S. women’s basketball team training camp ahead of the 2024 Paris Olympics (part of a larger tour they’re doing, including exhibition games against the women’s teams from Tennessee and Duke), found that out this week. On Monday, Cooper asked her Twitter followers where to get food in Atlanta: Somebody tell me where I can get some bomb soul food in ATL. THATS open on Mondays ? — Kahleah Copper (@kahleahcopper) November 6, 2023 A number of people responded suggesting popular cafe The Busy Bee. But on Tuesday, For The Win’s Meghan Hall asked Copper how her search went. And Copper revealed she went to The Busy Bee, and she was…not entirely complimentary of that restaurant, going on to say she wouldn’t be taking Twitter recommendations going forward: Kahleah Copper (@Kahleahcopper) said she can't trust y'all no more! #Paris2024 #USABWNT #WNBATwitter pic.twitter.com/azbY2MJb0o — Black Rosie Media (@BlackRosieMedia) November 7, 2023 “Now, listen to me, y’all. All those people that told me The Busy Bee? Now, the chicken was

Ex-CNN Chief Jeff Zucker Says Media Is Overplaying Donald Trump Leading Joe Biden …

Jeff Zucker, former head of CNN who now runs media investment fund RedBird IMI, believes the media is overplaying polls showing former President Donald Trump leading Joe Biden. Appearing at the Yahoo Finance Invest conference in New York, Zucker said it is a “real possibility” that Trump could return to the White House. In preparing for that scenario and covering the yearlong runup to the 2024 election, Zucker said the “key” for news outlets is “not to get caught up” in early poll results. A recent New York Times/Siena College poll showed Biden trailing Trump in five of the six states that helped Biden prevail in 2020. “That continues to be a huge mistake in the media,” he said. “If you went by the poll in 1983, you would have thought there was no way that Ronald Reagan would win re-election. Or the poll in 2011 — there’s no way Barack Obama could have won re-election.” Although Zucker conceded that “the world has changed a lot” since those prior examples, it should remain a priority to put poll results in context. “I made this mistake” during his CNN tenure, Zucker admitted. “I always try to be self-aware of these things.

PlayStation Ending Twitter/X Integration Next Week – Game Informer

PlayStation integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) is ending for PS5 and PS4 next week via a new update. That means users will no longer be able to directly upload screenshots and video clips from the console to the social media site. An announcement update posted to the PlayStation Support page states that on Monday, November 13, X integration will end, which includes the ability to “view any content published on X on PS5/PS4, and the ability to post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay-related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 (or link an X account to do so).” Click to enlarge While a bummer for those who make frequent use of this feature, which offers a simple method of posting gameplay content to the platform, there are a couple of more involved alternatives depending on your platform. If you’re a PS5 user, you can still use the PlayStation mobile app to upload gameplay captures to then post on X. You can read how to do that here. PS4 users have to rely on ShareFactory and do a bit more work, and you can read those steps here. Microsoft made the same move in April by disabling sharing to X directly

Sony Pulls Plug on X/Twitter Integration on PS4/PS5 – Gizmodo

Image: Diego Thomazini (Shutterstock)Tweeting out your latest PlayStation platinum trophy on a PS5 is going to get a little tricky. PS4 and PS5 owners received a message Monday saying the integration of X, formerly known as Twitter, will be coming to an end next week, as first spotted by users on X. Even Twitter Can’t Kill Twitter | Letter From the Editor“As of November 13, 2023, integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) will no longer function on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles,” the message from Sony read. “This includes the ability to view any content published on X on PS5/PS4, and the ability to post and view content, trophies, and other gameplay related activities on X directly from PS5/PS4 (or link an X account to do so). “PlayStation console owners apparently met the news with complete apathy, as many didn’t even know this feature was still a thing, according to one thread on the PS5 subreddit. When the PS4 was first revealed in 2013, Sony touted the inclusion of a Share button on the new DualShock 4 controller. This button would not only take a screenshot or short gameplay video, but it could also be set up to

Grok responded. "Just a moment while I pull up the recipe for homemade cocaine. You know, because I'm totally going to help you with that." Grok also has access to data from X, which xAI said will give it a leg-up. Musk, on Sunday, posted a side-by-side comparison of Grok answering a question versus another AI bot, which he said had less current information.Still, xAI hedged in its statement, as with any Large Language Model, or LLM, Grok "can still generate false or contradictory information."The prototype is in its early beta phase, only two months in
