NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court asked Twitter on Monday to furnish its policy on blocking users posting objectionable content, saying the platform is not bothered about the sensitivities of people from "other regions" and ethnicities. The HC took a dim view of Twitter's reluctance to act against a user who repeatedly posted objectionable content against Hindu goddesses. When the site claimed it doesn't block individual accounts unless there is a court order, the HC retorted: "If this is the logic, why have you blocked Mr Trump?", referring to former US President Donald Trump. A bench comprising acting Chief Justice Vipin Sanghi and Justice Navin Chawla said, "It is ultimately boiling down to this - that people you feel sensitive about... the content, you will block them. You are not bothered about the sensitivities of other people in other regions of the world, of ethnicities. We dare say that if these kinds of things were done in relation to another religion, you would be much more careful, more sensitive." It was hearing a plea seeking to block an account for allegedly obnoxious posts on "Maa Kaali" and other Hindu goddesses by user "AtheistRepublic" and asking Twitter to produce its standard…

Gujarat Titans (GT) began their campaign with a victory over fellow newbies, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Game 4 of the IPL 2022 season at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Chasing a target of 159, Gujarat was in trouble having lost the first two wickets within three overs. Captain Hardik Pandya promoted himself to No.4 and played a breezy cameo of 33 off 28 balls before being dismissed by his brother. Matthew Wade and David Miller also chipped in with similar handy cameos before Rahul Tewatia saw the team through in the dying stages against the death bowling of Dushmantha Chameera and Avesh Khan. Deepak Hooda then combined with the debutante, Ayush Badoni, to revive the innings with a 87-run association. Both scored fifties before being dismissed. Krunal Pandya played a 13-ball 21-run knock to further propel the score to 158/6. Dushmantha Chameera (Image: Twitter) The returning Varun Aaron took 2 wickets but ended up conceding a whopping…

SINGAPORE - Local tech firm V V Technology has been stopped from using a bird logo as its trademark, following a dispute with American social media giant Twitter over the trademark's registration. The start-up had intended to display the logo in a mobile application that it has been developing since December 2018. The app is aimed to be a platform hosting a range of products and services catering to a user's personal lifestyle needs, such as online shopping and food delivery. It has yet to be launched. In its website, V V Technology said it employs the latest technology, such as artificial intelligence and blockchain, to "reinvent the workplace" and is committed to creating a "smart, comprehensive enterprise and work management suite". An online check by The Straits Times shows that the firm worked with students from the Singapore Management University on projects involving online business solutions in 2019. It also obtained a travel agent licence from the Singapore Tourism Board in 2020, which will allow it to provide travel-related products and services. V V Technology applied to register a logo of a bird in flight as a trademark on Sept 10, 2018. Twitter opposed the registration, arguing that the…
