Packer Central Twitter Mock Draft

GREEN BAY, Wis. – After putting out five mock drafts, including this one that wasn’t well-received, I turned to my faithful Twitter followers for a mock draft.Using the simulator at Pro Football Focus, I laid out a list of best-available players (based on PFF and my own thinking) to get your feedback, then had you make the pick via a poll. Here are your picks. (Click on the tweet below for the full exchange throughout the day.)First round – Minnesota WR Rashod BatemanThe selection of Bateman didn’t require a poll; the comments were good enough. A deep threat with 4.41 speed who can play in the slot, he’d be an instant upgrade for a passing game that revolves almost solely around Davante Adams. In two full seasons and his COVID-abbreviated final campaign, Bateman caught 147 passes for 2,395 yards and 19 touchdowns. My pick: If a receiver like Bateman or LSU’s Terrace Marshall or Florida’s Kadarius Toney were to fall into range, and all the high-quality offensive tackles were gone, the playmaker would be hard to pass up.CLICK HERE for our predraft feature on Bateman.Second round – Georgia CB Eric StokesAt 6-foot 5/8, Stokes ran a sizzling 4.29 40 at…

Randy Moss Gifts Killer Mike Autographed Vikings Jersey After Twitter Exchange

Photo By JERRY HOLT/Star Tribune via Getty ImagesBack in 2001, when Outkast was at the height of their powers, up-and-coming rapper Killer Mike got a chance to drop a verse on the duo's single "The Whole World." Mike used the opportunity to shout out one of the best athletes in the world at the time—Minnesota Vikings wideout Randy Moss.Nearly 20 years after Mike's iconic feature and well into his career as one of the top lyricists in hip hop, Moss paid homage to the rapper's verse by sending him a signed Vikings jersey featuring Mike's line about the wideout. Randy Moss @RandyMoss@KillerMike Man of my word!❤ pic.twitter.com/bQIDAoDNOQRandy Moss @RandyMossDm me address ❤❤❤All it took for Mike to get his jersey was a simple ask on Twitter. While the Atlanta rapper tends to represent his hometown as much as he can, this seems like an acceptable reason to rock another team's jersey. When one of the best receivers of all time sends you a personalized jersey, all normal rules go out the window. The next time Mike finds himself in Minneapolis, he may just have to break this one out.

Twitter 'Bots' Help San Diegans Book COVID-19 Vaccine Appointments

LATEST UPDATES: Tracking COVID-19 | Vaccines | Racial Justice Thursday, April 8, 2021 By Jacob Aere Credit: San Diego Vaccine Bot Above: A screenshot of the San Diego Vaccine Bot Twitter page is shown, April 8, 2021. Eligibility and demand for vaccines always seems to outpace the supply. So some people with technology backgrounds are trying to help others book that elusive vaccination appointment. They’re using Twitter to create automated accounts, known as bots, that do the bulk of the appointment searching for those who are looking to be vaccinated against COVID-19. One of the accounts is called San Diego Vaccine Bot, which was created in early March by the bay-area based cybersecurity engineer Omar Darwish. He has multiple bot accounts for large population centers in California, all of which scan for appointments on the My Turn platform. Your browser does not support inline frames or is currently configured not to display inline frames. Content can be viewed at actual source page: https://youtu.be/LxhOvHZuMKs> Reported by Jacob Aere “This bot does that checking for you, all the time, once every five minutes,” Darwish said. “And if it finds something, it’ll let you know that there is something for you to scoop…

UMass Twitter helps fans attend Frozen Four in person

PITTSBURGH — UMass Twitter takes care of its own. When the Minutmen qualified for their second Frozen Four @curryhickssage, one of UMass’ most prominent supporters on the platform tweeted: “Alright #UMassTwitter. Time to open up your checkbooks to get @UmassReindeer and a friend to Pittsburgh for the Frozen Four. He quoted me a budget for two tickets to both games plus a hotel and some gas money. It’s reasonable.”He then included a Venmo link and contributed $50. @CurryHicksSage, a 35-year-old New York City resident who prefers to go by his screen name, is a longtime fan and originally from the Pioneer Valley.@UMassReindeer is sophomore Quinn McCarron from Worcester. McCarron wears a reindeer costume to the Mullins Center and sits — more like stands — with the Militia in the student section. At least he did when fans could still attend UMass hockey games.“I haven’t missed a hockey game,” McCarron said.Well.“That was at home,” he said. “With us available to go.”The reindeer costume was birthed of necessity and happy accidents. McCarron lost a Chewbacca costume his freshman year and needed something to wear for Halloween his freshman year of college. His mom stopped by Goodwill and purchased the reindeer costume, which is too small to…

Twitter Reactions: Julien Baker announces upcoming tour dates

There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel — and it’s casting down the shape of an indie hero clutching her guitar. Julien Baker took to social media Tuesday to announce her upcoming tour across North America and Europe, with dates starting in September and concluding at the smack end of May 2022. Fans rejoiced not only because they’ll be able to see the surging star in the flesh, but also because it’s a signal that the past year of mundanity is finally nearing its close. Pre-sales as well as regular ticket sales are opening at different points this week depending on the show. Supporting acts include Thao and Katie Malco at all September shows, Malco and Dehd at all October and November shows and Ratboys in April 2022 and May 2022. The announcement follows the release of Little Oblivions, Baker’s third album, in late February. The indie singer has found her way to late-night shows and the forefront of music lovers’ mind as of late, with her atmospheric guitar licks and gentle voice fostering a sense of hope and relatability into each person who listens. Her work with boygenius — a supergroup of Phoebe Bridgers, Lucy…

'Your Brain Is Broken!': Trailer For 'Zola,” A Movie Based On A Famed Twitter Saga, Prompts New …

A viral 2015 Twitter thread filled with plenty of juicy details, shocking crimes and revelations about sex trafficking has found new life on the social media platform after the trailer for the Sundance hit “Zola” was released last week. A'Ziah "Zola" King posted a 148-tweet thread in 2015 explaining how she was roped into a series of misadventures, and misdemeanors, in Florida after befriending a fellow stripper at a Detroit Hooters, where she worked. Hours after meeting, they took what King called a "ho trip." "Y'all wanna hear a story about why me & this b-tch here fell out?! It's kinda long but full of suspense," was how King kicked off the social media platform retelling of her adventure. The thread features photos of her and the friend turned non-friend in question. The Twitter thread was adapted into a movie by director Janicza Bravo and Jeremy O. Harris and will be distributed by A24 when it's released at the end of June. Over this past weekend, the trailer and release date announcement prompted viral recreations of the famous Twitter thread. Users, in particular, are using the thread intro to reference famous falling-outs. For example, one user took the same opening line to accompany images of Jesse Eisenberg and Andrew Garfield…

Twitter basketball fans stunned at Baylor's early blowout of Gonzaga

Baylor had a 19-point lead at one point in the first half, causing fans to post their meme responses to the early blowout before Gonzaga cut it to 10. Baylor came out fast against Gonzaga to start the NCAA Men's Basketball national championship Monday, breaking out to a huge lead early and easily handing the Bulldogs their largest deficit of the season. That lead was already 16 points less than halfway though the first half. With 10:52 left in the first half, the Bears had a 26-10 lead. Jared Butler had 10 of those points for Baylor -- matching the total for Gonzaga at that point. Jalen Suggs, the hero of Saturday's Final Four game when his 3-pointer at the buzzer in overtime lifted Gonzaga over UCLA, committed two fouls in the first 3:04 and had to sit down. The lead grew to as much as 19 points before Gonzaga began to claw back and make it a 10-point deficit at halftime. People on Twitter were stunned with how quickly the Bears were dominating. Twitter reacts to idea of Bears trading for QB Teddy Bridgewater

The Chicago Bears signed veteran Andy Dalton to a one-year, $10 million deal in free agency, but quarterback remains a hot topic surrounding the team. The rumors involving Russell Wilson have been the loudest, and now there’s another quarterback that is primed for the trade market. After the Carolina Panthers traded for Sam Darnold, that leaves Teddy Bridgewater ripe for the taking. And, for a lot of people, the easiest assumption was the Bears as a landing spot. Naturally, a popular talking point was the possibility of Chicago trading for Bridgewater, which had fans divided. Some believe Bridgewater would be an instant upgrade over Dalton or Nick Foles. Others believe Bridgewater is a cautionary tale, especially for someone that reportedly turned down an offer with the Bears last offseason because he didn’t want to compete with Mitchell Trubisky. My one takeaway from the Darnold trade is that it's further validation that Teddy Bridgewater is just not the answer. I know Foles didn't pan out but thank God the Bears didn't get him. — Brendan Sugrue (@BrendanSugrue) April 5, 2021 I’ll never understand Bear fans infatuation with Teddy Bridgewater. If a team moves on from you after ONE SEASON that means…
