Lauren Boebert in front of Shooters Grill in 2020. File GLENWOOD SPRINGS — After being sued in federal court for allegedly violating free-speech rights, Rifle business owner and Congressperson Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo., argues through her attorney the motion be denied because the allegations ignore the distinction between personal and private Twitter accounts.Bri Buentello, a former Democratic state representative based in Pueblo, brought legal action in January against Boebert after the Rifle Republican blocked her from accessing her Twitter account.Buentello told the Post Independent on Tuesday that she originally told Boebert to resign following the Jan. 6 Capitol riots.“I Tweeted that at 6 p.m. that day,” she said. Boebert was accused by some of potentially endangering other elected officials with her tweets that day. “I was blocked by 5 a.m. the next day.”Buentello’s attorney, David Lane, argued that Boebert cannot legally bar constituents from access to her Twitter feed since she shares official policy on it.Buentello said it’s worth noting the law makes no difference between personal and “so-called professional accounts.”“The bottom line is, when you use that public platform to talk about policy, to talk about public stances and to talk about how you’re representing Congress, the Supreme Court…

See what they had to say below:I was really hoping national company with Buffalo roots General Mills would buy the Bills Stadium naming rights so they could call it the Cheerios Cereal Bowl.— Paul Peck (@PeckOnSports) March 29, 2021That name isn't nearly long enough. Why not Buffalo Bills Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield Stadium of Buffalo in Orchard Park?— Dave (@somedave) March 29, 2021I don't care what they name the stadium in Orchard Park as long as they continue to put a great team on the field. Steve Cohen says black Mets jerseys are back, and Twitter is pumped

A Twitter Q&A with the owner of a baseball team isn't a common occurrence throughout history, so New York Mets owner Steve Cohen and Q&A moderator Wayne Randazzo decided to address the most important questions from fans in the 30-minute segment. And when you hear Cohen's secondary response to the question, you'll probably be gripping your seats with excitement as to what the topic was and what his initial answer could have possibly been about. "Well, you know, it is the most critical question that needed to be answered, more important than anything else we can even imagine," Cohen said. "And I'm sure that's gonna create controversy tomorrow or... probably right now, so I can't wait to see what my Twitter feed looks like." What could that possibly mean? Are they not going to extend Francisco Lindor? Is Mr. Met no longer the mascot? Will David Wright's No. 5 uniform not be retired? "Black jerseys... well, I can say with absolute certainty that the black jerseys are coming back," Cohen said (head to the 15-minute mark in the video below). "They'll come back for a few games this year, at some point, and you'll be able to buy those jerseys…

Amazon goes on the attack through Twitter ahead of union count

Sign at Amazon's Bessemer fulfillment center.Amazon is hitting back at critics just days before votes will be counted at its Bessemer fulfillment center in a potentially historic union vote. And the online giant is using Twitter to convey its message. Through its Amazon News account, the company struck over the weekend at Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), replying to a tweet accusing the company of exploiting tax law. What followed was a back and forth over tax law and allegations of Amazon’s union busting tactics. Amazon’s response echoes earlier statements made by the company, touting its own $15 an hour minimum wage and accusing Democratic lawmakers of abandoning blue collar workers. Here is full coverage of the Alabama Amazon unionization effortVox is reporting that the tweets may be have been prompted after Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos expressed dissatisfaction in recent weeks that company officials weren’t more aggressive in pushing back against criticism. It should be pointed out that Amazon did go two straight years of paying no U.S. federal income taxes, in 2017 and 2018. That was due to carryforward losses from its unprofitable years, tax credits for investments in research and development, and the fact that it pays people in stock…

Twitter to soon release a Facebook-inspired Groups feature called 'Community', that will allow …

Twitter is on a roll, the social media platform is coming up with features to make its users use the platform feeling safe and comfortable. In the past few months the features that Twitter has come up with are both innovative and highly considerate. Twitter's Analyst Day Presentations are the ones where executives of different departments come together to inform the public about the direction their respective teams are headed towards to. During one of its Analyst Day Presentations, Twitter shared a new feature that was on the works called ‘Communities’, this Facebook-like group option will allow users to share their tweets within a selected pool of audience. This is a much awaited and extremely thoughtful feature as many of us out there are highly intellectual but just don’t have the confidence or don’t feel like sharing everything with everyone. Through this, the users can generate their own selected audience and can share their tweets only with the people that they are comfortable with. Many say that this new feature from the social media platform will greatly change the way of how users tweet. When tweeting something, the user can pick out the people that are allowed to view that tweet.…

Mets owner Steve Cohen takes to Twitter asking: 'What do you think Lindor will accept?'

Mets' Steve Cohen treated image with Mets hat, looking to sideMets owner Steve Cohen started a dialogue with Mets fans on Friday night by asking a simple question:“What do you think Lindor will accept?’ Cohen tweeted. "I’m going to crowdsource the answer.”Francisco Lindor and the Mets have reportedly begun contract extension talks, with the superstar shortstop setting a deadline of Opening Day for all negotiations to reach a conclusions, saying he won’t discuss his contract during the regular season. The 27-year-old, acquired by the Mets this offseason in a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Indians, is currently set to become a free agent after the 2021 season. With Cohen taking to Twitter to discuss the Lindor situation, some fans assumed that a deal with the shortstop must be imminent, though Cohen responded saying “In this case no.”SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino confirmed what Cohen said, reporting that Lindor and the Mets are not close on a deal at this time. The Mets’ Opening Day matchup with the Washington Nationals is just six days away, so it’s fair to assume that all eyes will be on the Mets and Lindor to see if a long-term contract will be agreed to before that day arrives.
