Trans activist Munroe Bergdorf has deleted her Twitter account, claiming that the app is ‘not safe for transgender people’.The campaigner and activist, who lives in London, announced her departure from the social media app on Friday, where she shared a statement on Instagram about the alleged abuse she’s experienced on a “daily basis”.“I’ve deleted my @Twitter account,” she wrote.“No one should have to endure even a fraction of the abuse that I am exposed to and have to put up with on a daily basis.”In her statement, Ms Bergdorf asked when social media companies will ‘clamp down’ on transphobia on social media apps.“If you can design algorithms to identify Covid-19 vaccine misinformation then you can combat transphobia. UPDATE, 8:30 a.m.: Le Roy Junior-Senior High School's Twitter account has been restored one week after the account had been suspended by the social media company.The account, @LeRoy_Knights, was restored Thursday, said High School Principal Tim McArdle.The account, which frequently posts videos, photos and other updates regarding the junior-senior high school and its student body, had inactive for a week after a music copyright claim had been made for a Sept. 5, 2018, that included music that was protected by copyright. Visitors to the Twitter account saw a message from Twitter indicating the account had been suspended, but did not provide an explanation for the action.Twitter has not responded to requests for comment from The Daily News.Le Roy's Twitter account was created in 2013 and had more than 15,000 posts. NEW DELHI (AP) — India has chided Twitter for not complying with its orders to remove certain accounts and content, warning it “must respect” Indian laws “irrespective of Twitter’s own rules and guidelines.” The social media giant has found itself in a standoff with the government after it refused to fully comply with last week’s government order to remove some accounts officials accuse of spreading misinformation about ongoing protests, including those of news organizations, journalists, activists and politicians. Twitter’s actions appeared to irk the government. It served Twitter a non-compliance notice and threatened its officials with a fine and imprisonment of up to seven years for violating its order. Critics the government is using the protests to escalate a crackdown on free speech.

The company confirms it is exploring subscriptions and other revenue generating features. It’s primary money-maker is still ads. According to bloomberg, one idea Twitter is considering is to allow people to tip the users they follow. Spotify says it’s testing the streaming of live lyrics in the U.S. The music streaming service started offering the new lyrics feature to some American users Tuesday. No word yet on when the test will expand. The company once offered the feature in the U.S., but stopped in 2016.  Distance measuring devices are being allowed for the first time at three major golf tournaments. The devices allow players to focus on an object and determine its exact yardage from the ball. They’ll be used at one event each on the PGA, women’s, and senior tours.
