Twitter is not happy with Najee Harris not being a Heisman finalist

The 2020 Heisman trophy finalists have been anounced, and of the four to be considered for the coveted award, half of them are Crimson Tide stars. Quarterback Mac Jones and wide reciver DeVonta Smith would have been traveling to New York for the Heisman ceremony to recognize the nations top player. While there’s consensus within the college football community that Jones and Smith deserve to be finalists, the Alabama fanbase believes a third member of this Crimson Tide squad should have been included – running back Najee Harris, who came in fifth place for the Heisman voting. Harris has been a crucial member of Alabama’s offensive success this season, and is in the running for the ‘RB1’ spot for the 2021 NFL draft. His contributions include 214 carries for 1,262 yards and 24 rushing touchdowns, as well as 316 yards and three touchdowns through the air. College football fans on the internet have voiced their discontent. Here’s what they had to say: Jones & Smith Alabama boasts two of the four candidates for college football’s most prestigious award. Trump slams Twitter for 'stifling free speech,' reiterates call to end Section 230

President Trump launched his latest attack against Twitter on Christmas Eve, accusing the company of "going wild with their flags" and "trying hard to suppress even the truth," referring to his continued baseless claims of voter fraud in the 2020 presidential election."Just shows how dangerous they are, purposely stifling free speech. Very dangerous for our country," Trump added. "Does Congress know that this is how Communism starts? Cancel Culture at its worst."BIDEN'S DIGITAL TEAM TAKES ISSUE WITH TWITTER'S NEW WHITE HOUSE HANDLE POLICYTrump also reitered his call to end Section 230, a provision in the Communications Decency Act which offers protections that shield social media companies from liability in relation to content posted on their platforms by third parties. The law has continued to remain in Trump's crosshairs, with the president citing it as the reason for vetoing the $740 billion 2021 National Defense Authorization Act on Wednesday."Your failure to terminate the very dangerous national security risk of Section 230 will make our intelligence virtually impossible to conduct without everyone knowing what we are doing at every step," Trump said. "Section 230 facilitates the spread of foreign disinformation online, which is a serious threat to our national security and election integrity.  It must be repealed."Trump, along with congressional GOP officials, claim that social media…

Here's what Twitter is saying about the 'Christmas Star' conjunction

On Dec. 21, the night of the winter solstice, two of our solar system’s biggest planets passed by one another in a rare cosmic event known as a planetary conjunction. During the event, also referred to as the “Christmas Star,” Jupiter and Saturn appeared to unite for a few brief moments and shine as one bright double planet. It was the closest the two planets had appeared from Earth’s vantage in over 800 years. People and organizations from around the world took to Twitter to share their photos and thoughts about the event. Here’s a sampling of what they said: NASA described the conjunction as an international moment of unity and shared an image of the event. Tom Brady Hilariously Roasts Tony Dungy, Colts On Twitter

December 22, 2020 at 7:42 pm By Michael Hurley, CBS Boston BOSTON (CBS) — Tom Brady has some quick Twitter hands. The quarterback who is considered by most to be the greatest of all time was scrolling his timeline on Tuesday when he caught wind of something that former Colts coach Tony Dungy said. That comment came from Dungy years ago, when he ranked the most difficult quarterbacks to coach against during his career. In doing so … he ranked Brady sixth. Seems dumb. Dungy had Brady ranked behind Aaron Rodgers, John Elway, Steve Young, Dan Marino and of course, Peyton Manning. Brady doesn’t often involve himself in any conversations about who’s the greatest quarterback, but in this case, he popped in with a quick hello by sharing the infamous banner hanging in Indianapolis — a banner which celebrated the Colts being “AFC Finalists” in 2014. https://t.co/mxsEmFlJdj pic.twitter.com/cdN1T55yU6 — Tom Brady (@TomBrady) December 22, 2020 Of course, that’s not a direct shot at Dungy, as Dungy’s final year in coaching was way back in 2008, long before Brady and the Patriots beat the Colts 45-7 in the 2014 AFC Championship Game. Nevertheless, a shot like that from Brady hasn’t been seen…

Biden Jr. takes office. When President Trump was inaugurated in January 2017, the official handles were taken over by the Trump White House with their followers intact, at the encouragement of the outgoing Obama administration. This time, however, Twitter will not be transferring the followers when those handles shift to the new Biden administration. (@POTUS has more than 33 million followers; @WhiteHouse has more than 26 million.)Instead, Twitter said on Tuesday that it would notify users who follow the Trump administration’s official accounts that those accounts will be archived, and that they can follow the Biden administration’s new iterations of those handles if they choose. Christie Smythe, reporter who fell for Martin Shkreli, defends herself on Twitter

December 21, 2020 | 4:18pm | Updated December 21, 2020 | 4:52pm Enlarge Image Martin Shkreli and Christie Smythe Getty Images; Facebook Martin Shkreli’s love scribe has unleashed a firestorm on Twitter since going public with their romance Sunday — defending herself while hailing him as a COVID-19 hero. Former Bloomberg court reporter Christie Smythe, who famously revealed her love for the publicly flayed “Pharma Bro’’ in a magazine article, has spent the past day tweeting that the convicted fraudster is no “psychopath” — and instead just a misunderstood genius who even touted a promising COVID-19 treatment before the rest of the world. “Since mid-April, researchers around the world have been looking into using leprosy drug clofazimine for COVID-19. Martin Shkreli beat them, drafting that proposal from prison in March. The government called him ‘delusional,’ ” Smythe defiantly tweeted along with two links to stories mentioning the anti-leprosy drug’s potential in combatting the coronavirus. The journalist insisted that her imprisoned beloved fraudster is no evil nut job, despite what some people think. “I realize it’s hard for many people to accept that 1. Martin is not a psychopath, and 2. a woman can choose to do something with her life…
