Griffin Quinn/Northwestern Athle TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – WR Griffin Wilde was named to the 2026 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. announced today. Wilde earns the honor after a standout first season with the Wildcats in 2025, which saw him finish in the top 10 in total receptions (71, 3rd), receiving yards (880, 6th), yards per game (67.7, 7th), and touchdowns (8, 7th) in the conference, and ranking in the top 50 in all categories nationally. His 880 receiving yards last season are the most by a player in the HC David Braun era (since 2023) and most by a Northwestern player since Austin Carr in 2016. Both his yards total and his 71 receptions last season rank ninth in a season in program history. The Sioux Falls, S.D., native was named the GameAbove Sports Bowl MVP for his efforts in NU’s 34-7 win over Central Michigan. Wilde’s 10 receptions for 97 yards and two touchdowns were the most by a Northwestern player in a bowl game since 2010. LEXINGTON, Ky. – The University of Kentucky swimming and diving program finished their 2026-27 schedule, featuring lots of high-level competition as head coach Bret Lundgaard enters his third season in Lexington, as announced on Wednesday. The schedule features an intersquad exhibition, three dual meets against SEC opponents, two invitationals, and more. Both squads will face six opponents during the regular season that finished the 2025-26 season ranked in the top 20. The season kicks off with an intersquad blue, white meet on Sept. 25 at 4 p.m. ET, with the first official meet on Oct. 2 at the Lancaster Aquatic Center against Florida at 6 p.m. ET. Kentucky then hits the road to Atlanta as a part of the Dual Meet Tournament Oct. 16 and 17. The Wildcats will first take on South Carolina, one of seven other teams attending the tournament bracket style event. Kentucky will then travel to Bloomington, Ind. to take on the Hoosiers and Southern California at 2 p.m. ET on Oct. 23 before a few individuals head to US World Championship Qualifiers Oct. 28-31. Those who still use X, The Everything App with any regularity at all are probably aware of how the situation has deteriorated in the past few years. The algorithm feeds its users a steady stream of slop and right-wing talking points, and replies under posts are dominated by people (or bots) who have purchased a blue check to get a priority placement under a post. If Twitter was the internet’s town square, X has become the rundown, anger-inducing ghost of what used to be.  Of course, that is part of its purpose, as a new report in 404 Media reminds. The outlet reports on a new study published in the Proceedings Of The National Academy of Sciences academic journal, which found that reply generation is the biggest indication of what will make a post appear in someone’s For You page. This in itself isn’t especially novel information; algorithms have long prioritized engagement, which often means they are designed to provoke anger in a user. But what is more new is the revelation that the platform serves people who call themselves Democrats more ragebait than anyone else. However, this seems to at least partially correspond to Democrats’ behavior on the platform. 

The College of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Troy University is helping make a difference for children of incarcerated mothers through its Pack the Bus initiative. In partnership with Aid to Inmate Moms and the Anthropology Club, the initiative brought the TROY community together to collect essential school supplies for children across Alabama, helping ensure they have the resources they need to begin the school year prepared to learn, grow and succeed. The initiative was inspired by a desire to help children who may face additional challenges as they prepare to return to school. With school supplies and clothing often playing an important role in a child’s academic and social experience, the Pack the Bus drive sought to help ensure children of incarcerated mothers have access to the resources they need to begin the school year prepared to learn, grow and succeed. The Cavaliers kick off their fifth season under head coach Tony Elliott with an Aug. 29 game against ACC foe NC State at Scott Stadium. UVA players started studying the Wolfpack early in the summer but took a break for training camp, which started late last month. Amid the grind of camp, the opportunity to prepare for an actual game “makes it more exciting,” quarterback Beau Pribula said Monday at the Hardie Center, “and we’re just excited to get started on .” Elliott came to UVA in December 2021 as a first-time head coach. Much has changed in his program and his approach since then. “It's almost hard to remember the first camp,” Elliott said Monday after the Wahoos’ 15th summer practice, “but I know that we've tweaked the practice schedule.
