One Direction’s ‘Night Changes’ Music Video Hits 1 Billion Views on YouTube – Billboard

The visual is the boy band's fourth to reach the milestone. 1D has hit 1B — again. More than a decade after its release, the music video for One Direction‘s “Night Changes” has surpassed a billion views on YouTube, marking the band’s fourth visual to reach the milestone. Directed by Ben Winston and posted in November 2014, the “Night Changes” music video gave fans the chance to experience what it would be like to do something many of them had long dreamed of: go on a date with one (or all) of the members of the band. Shot in a first-person POV, viewers were made to feel like they were sitting down at a fancy restaurant with Zayn Malik, ice skating with Harry Styles, riding shotgun next to Louis Tomlinson, sitting by a cozy fire with Niall Horan and walking around a carnival with Liam Payne. As the guys sing the mellow lyrics to the hit song in the video, things hilariously start to go wrong on each of their “dates.” A disgruntled ex dumps spaghetti on Malik’s head, Styles injures himself and his love interest in a misguided move on the ice, Tomlinson is pulled over and arrested by

Dickinson Commission ends YouTube livestreams without notice

DICKINSON — In a quiet but consequential move, the Dickinson City Commission voted Tuesday to end its longstanding practice of livestreaming meetings on YouTube — a decision made without prior public notice or agenda listing. The motion, introduced by Mayor Scott Decker during the "commissioner comments" portion at the end of the meeting, was not previously announced and was passed following minimal discussion. The measure carried with a 3-1 vote. Decker and Commissioners Jason Fridrich and Dr. Robert Baer supported the change, while Commissioner Joe Ridl voted against it. With Commissioner John Odermann’s resignation earlier this year, his seat remains vacant, leaving only four commissioners currently serving. The city began livestreaming its biweekly commission meetings in 2020 as a response to COVID-19 restrictions on in-person attendance. Since then, it has become a routine part of city communications. The city’s YouTube channel contains archived meetings dating back more than a decade. The City of Dickinson is provided Public Access Channel 19 free of charge through a Broadcast franchise agreement with Consolidated Telcom. Dickinson Press file photo Decker said the city is not legally obligated to provide YouTube livestreams and cited its agreement with Consolidated Telecom, which broadcasts meetings live on local

VacuumTube is the best way to watch YouTube on Steam Deck, SteamOS – GamingOnLinux

Watching YouTube on Steam Deck / SteamOS? You need to grab VacuumTube which makes the whole experience a lot nicer. This is not a custom client, instead it wraps Google's own "YouTube Leanback" that's used for consoles and smart TVs in Electron and pretends to be the official YouTube app (as Google block it on PCs). Quite a clever solution, although one Google is probably not particularly happy to see. Especially since it has a built-in adblocker too. The result is that for Steam Deck, SteamOS and any other media centre PC you just get an overall better experience when compared with running YouTube via the web browser. It's available on Flathub, so you can install it in Desktop Mode via the Discover store. See my guide on installing extra software. When you've added it to Steam and launch it in Gaming Mode, it feels like it was made for the Steam Deck / SteamOS systems. Controller support out of the box too, making it the perfect YouTube companion for you. It just goes to show how easy it would actually be for Google to do directly. Just like how we have an official GeForce NOW app for the Steam

YouTube and Spotify accused of ‘censorship’ after blocking left-wing folk group in Turkey

Grup Yorum call for three-day boycott and give away discography for free following blocks on their content In this picture taken on 30 September 2020 shows logos of social networking websites displayed on a mobile phone's screen in Istanbul (Ozan Kose/AFP) Published date: 3 June 2025 16:59 BST | Last update: 7 sec ago YouTube and Spotify have been accused of "censorship" after the Turkish government blocked videos and songs by the left-wing folk band Grup Yorum. According to Turkish freedom of expression organisation IFOD, Turkish authorities blocked access to more than 450 videos by Grup Yorum on YouTube last week in the name of "protecting national security and public order". They said  the 454 clips, shared since 2006 by dozens of YouTube accounts, had totalled more than 205 million views. IFOD said  in a statement on Friday that at least one of the group's albums had also been blocked on Spotify and Apple Music. A similar request was put to streaming site Deezer, but they refused to comply. Legislation passed in 2022 handed the government's Information and Communication Technologies Authority (BTK) powers to compel social media companies to comply with requests to take down content and hand over user data or to be subject

Unpacking the baseline battle: Trump’s ‘big, beautiful bill’ and the national debt

(The Center Square) – Top U.S. Senate Republicans are eyeing a controversial accounting method to theoretically slash the multi trillion-dollar price tag of President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill.”  However, tax policy experts remain strongly divided over whether the tactic would constitute legitimate policy or a recipe for fiscal disaster. The current version of the budget reconciliation package, entitled the One Big Beautiful Bill Act , passed the U.S. House on a razor-thin margin. The bill would give a 10-year extension to key portions of the expiring 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion, and fulfill Trump’s energy, border security and defense agenda. Using the traditional current law baseline, House leaders calculated that the tax cut extensions would lead to an estimated $4.3 trillion in lost revenue over the next decade.  To help offset the cost, House committees included more than $1.7 trillion in savings in the package. They assumed that economic growth from the tax cut extension would cover the rest, though the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget estimates the bill would still add at least $3.1 trillion to the national debt by 2034. But Senate leaders want to make the tax
