Meta, X, and YouTube’s Scores Hit New Lows in GLAAD’s Sixth Annual LGBTQ Social …

GLAAD announced today the findings of the sixth annual Social Media Safety Index (SMSI), its yearly evaluation of public-facing policies related to LGBTQ safety, privacy, and expression across six major social media platforms: TikTok, YouTube, X, and Meta’s Facebook, Instagram, and Threads. Read the full report here. Notable highlights of this year’s report: With the exception of TikTok, 2026 platform scores dropped across the board and have hit historic lows. Both Meta and YouTube continue to maintain their 2025 anti-LGBTQ policy changes, which have made their platforms more toxic and harmful for LGBTQ users, notably transgender and gender non-conforming people. Both companies have also retreated from best practices in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). X continues to rank last among all platforms evaluated, declining to a 29 (out of 100) score. Meta’s early-2025 anti-LGBTQ policy changes included: modifying major sections of its Hateful Conduct policy to allow anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and removing key protections for LGBTQ people globally, especially transgender people; utilizing anti-LGBTQ terminology to refer to LGBTQ people in its Community Standards; terminating its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs; deleting trans and nonbinary themes on Messenger; and ending its fact-checking program in the U.S. As documented in last year’s

Bryson DeChambeau: If LIV Golf fails I’ll prioritise YouTube channel over potential PGA Tour return

Bryson DeChambeau says he will focus on his YouTube channel if LIV Golf fails over a potential return to the PGA Tour. Last week, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) announced it would be cutting its funding to the breakaway golf league following the conclusion of the 2026 season. In a statement released on Thursday, the PIF said the "substantial investment required is no longer consistent, with the fund's investment strategy moving forward." As one of LIV Golf's biggest stars - along with Spain's Jon Rahm, who reached a resolution with the DP World Tour on Tuesday to pay all of his outstanding fines as part of an agreement to return to play on the circuit - DeChambeau's future is now one of great interest. "I think, from my perspective, I'd love to grow my YouTube channel three times, maybe even more," DeChambeau said, who has 2.69m subscribers on YouTube, told ESPN. Subjects Abstract YouTube is an increasingly popular source of both mainstream and independent news as well as entertainment. This includes content about climate change and migration which is increasingly being uploaded to the platform. Yet to date, the majority of discourse and frame analysis about climate migration has focused on written text in print media and minimal attention has been paid to alternative media sources and formats. Against the background of the growing trend towards online video-based news, we close this gap with an analysis of representations of climate migration available on YouTube. As a basis for the analysis, we built a database of 239 English-language videos published between January 2009 and December 2023. We apply frame analysis to a sub-sample of 65 videos from the database, identifying key assumptions made about climate

(Photo by Art Rogers/Los Angeles Times via Getty Images) In the 1960’s, there were three great teams in the NBA: the Boston Celtics, the Los Angeles Lakers, and whoever Wilt Chamberlain was playing for at the time. The Celtics were built around Bill Russell, while the Lakers were crafted around Jerry West and Elgin Baylor. Advertisement The Lakers never won a championship during Russell’s time in Boston, and this haunted West for life. Even after establishing himself as Boston’s Red Auerbach’s equal as a GM, he could not step foot in Boston Garden. In the new Prime documentary about him, Jerry West: The Logo, West reveals that he was going to go to a game at Boston with his son, but he was physically incapable of doing it. In the 60s, as you’ll see here, West and Baylor were a great combo, but they
