Wrexham teen denies murder after posting stabbing video to Snapchat | The Leader

A WREXHAM man who posted videos of him stamping on his friend’s lifeless body and head after stabbing him in the heart has denied murder as his trial began at Mold Crown Court. Mark Jones admitted killing Kyle Whalley on Sunday, July 11, 2021, as the pair drank heavily prior to the European Championship football final, which they had planned to watch at the latter’s flat in Rhosymedre. He then posted a number of Snapchat stories to his account admitting the offence and also a graphic video of him stamping on Mr Whalley’s head while he lay dead in the flat. But the 19-year-old defendant, from Chester Road in Wrexham, has denied murder, with barrister Gordon Cole QC telling the court that Jones heard voices in his head telling him to harm people because of his deteriorating mental health. The court also heard that Jones, who has attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), was acting partly in self-defence but the jury was also told to consider whether he intended to kill his victim.
