HOBOKEN, N.J. – The Ithaca College men's basketball team began the 2026 portion of its season on January 2 against Kean University in Hoboken, N.J. and fell to the Cougars, 74-69. Ithaca is now 2-7 on the season. The game began with numerous Bomber scoring opportunities while Kean's Breslin Crump netted the first basket of the game with a 3-pointer a minute and a half in. Back-to-back layups from Jaylon O'Neal kicked off Ithaca's scoring. O'Neal was followed up by Yoav Regev, making a layup of his own, as the Bombers took their first lead of the game, 6-5, with 16:08 remaining. Out of a timeout, Ithaca's solid ball movement led to its first successful 3-pointer of the game from Cole Wissink. Nick Lemmond, Chris Leysath, and Evan Cabral all netted unanswered shots to give the Bombers a 14-0 run as they attempted to pull away from Kean with an early 16-5 lead. UPDATE: The Champlin Police Department has canceled the alert for Maige Yang and De’Ali Delgado, stating that they were found and interviewed by authorities. KSTP’s initial story on their disappearance can be read below. The Champlin police are asking for help to find a 23-year-old mother and her young daughter. A Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) missing person alert says that the pair were last seen on Dec. 28 and last communicated with family on Dec. 30. Maige Yang and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter De’Ali Delgado are believed to be in the Glendale, Arizona, area. Law enforcement says they are very concerned about their safety based on communications provided by the family. Yang, who is five feet tall and 90 pounds, was thought to last be wearing a black jacket, green sweatpants and a green t-shirt. Both have brown hair and brown eyes. Tonie Morgan hit a three-pointer with less than a second to play as No. 11 Kentucky upset fifth-ranked LSU 80-78 on Thursday night inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge. LSU had taken the lead with three made free throws with 18 seconds left. Healdsburg police found a dog crate with seven puppies locked inside Wednesday morning on the side of Westside Road near Bacchus Landing. A concerned person called police after spotting the crate and another puppy running near the road. Officers arrived and found the door to the crate fastened with zip ties. Police spotted the loose puppy but were unable to catch it. Officers alerted Sonoma County Animal Services of the discovery in 7:45 a.m. call, said Beth Wyatt, operations manager for the agency. The seven puppies, Australian cattle dog mixes, were first taken to the Healdsburg Animal Shelter before being transferred to the county shelter about 9:40 a.m. County animal services officers set a trap in the area where the crate was found to catch the loose puppy. It had not been captured by noon Wednesday, Wyatt said. Neither county Animal Services nor Healdsburg police have opened an investigation, but Wyatt said she was “100% sure” the dogs were abandoned. “It’s hard to believe someone could forget a crate full of dogs on the road like that,” she said.  » Read More

A 34-year-old man was shot outside his home during a Facebook Marketplace meetup in Plainfield on Monday afternoon, according to his family. Ring doorbell camera video shows the victim walking toward a Honda Accord when someone approaches him with a gun. He ran and was shot in the leg. Family members can be heard screaming for help after the shooting. The victim’s wife told News 12 he had recently undergone surgery and is now recovering from three gunshot wounds, including one to his femur. Another family member said the man had been selling a chain online, and met up with the suspects involved in the shooting at a jewelry store a couple of weeks ago.
