LinkedIn's company-wide week off a no 'strings attached' refresher as employers fight burnout

LinkedIn said it received a swell of positive feedback from employees after an all-company week off following the Easter holiday, amid signs of increased burnout among employees across the economy. LinkedIn's Vice President of Global Talent Nina McQueen told FOX Business that since nearly all 15,900 employees took the time to step away from their screens, workers were not inundated with emails and piled-up responsibility upon return – relieving some of the pressure of taking traditional vacations."Instead, employees felt like their vacation came without strings attached," she said. "They were able to come back to work refreshed and without a plethora of missed messages or an overflowed inbox."McQueen said the company heard from employees who said they were able to "disconnect from work and reconnect with the world around them." LINKEDIN LETS 15,900 EMPLOYEES TAKE WEEK AFTER EASTER OFF IN PUSH TO AVOID BURNOUT "What was most surprising to me was the overwhelming amount of posts, comments, texts and emails from employees sharing how grateful they were for the time off and how much they really needed and enjoyed it," she said. "Plus the positive reaction from the business community at large." Credit: LinkedInMany employees took to social media to…

These companies pay interns more than $8000 a month

By MEGAN CERULLO | CBS News | April 14, 2021 at 8:07 PM EDT - Updated April 14 at 8:07 PM (CBS News) - Some lucky interns can earn a pretty penny while learning their trade at some of America’s best-known companies. As they battle it out for young talent, technology stalwarts Nvidia, Facebook and LinkedIn all offer interns median monthly pay of at least $8,000 a month, according to a new survey from job-search site Glassdoor. Nvidia, a Silicon Valley maker of computer graphics cards and other gear, pays interns a median salary of $8,811 a month, putting it on top of Glassdoor’s list of the highest-paying internships for 2021. Glassdoor researchers see the data as a bright spot in a labor market still healing from the devastating effects of the coronavirus pandemic. “There are still several employers paying their interns really competitive salaries — some even paying over $8,000 a month — and part of the reason they’re willing to pay really high salaries is they face a lot of competition when it comes to hiring great talent,” Amanda Stansell, an economic data scientist at Glassdoor, told CBS MoneyWatch. “Even in the midst of COVID-19, great talent is still great talent, and…

LinkedIn (REUTERS) LinkedIn recently made headlines when the personal information of 500 profiles was put up on sale on a hacker forum. At the time, reports detailed that the hacker had put a price of around $2 to view the leaked sample of two million profiles. Now, a new report sheds more light in this regard.GizChina reports that a user on the above-mentioned hacker forum has asked for a price of $ 7,000 ( ₹5,24,925 approx.) for 827 million LinkedIn user profiles. The user claimed that there are more than 500 million items on the list. The report also says that the number of these items has exceeded the scale of LinkedIn users, which originally stood around 740 million. This indicates that the hacker’s list is likely to contain outdated or duplicate material.Furthermore, the report says that the hacker has packaged the data into seven groups. In addition to the user data of 500 million user profiles, the list is expected to contain packages that are labelled as ‘global users’ and ‘US users’, which totals to 327 million material. This material, however, is not being sold separately but in the form of these groups.“This was not a LinkedIn data breach,…
