As any history buff will know from the title, Nuremberg sets itself after World War II. While the Allies can’t put Hitler on trial, they can make an example of his closest followers. The ensuing tribunal provides a global stage to spotlight the atrocities that took place, helping to ensure history won’t repeat itself. Of course, if recent events are any indication, humanity seems to be making the same mistakes generations later. The Führer may be dead, although everything he stood for endures, and not just in the defendants accused of war crimes. There’s a scene towards the end of Nuremberg where military psychiatrist Douglas Kelley (Rami Malek) argues that Nazism isn’t just alive in a post-war world. It’s infiltrated the United States. Others view Kelley’s comments as unpatriotic. Through a modern lens, his warning should’ve been heeded. With ambitions to write a book, Kelley is tasked with analyzing the captured Nazis. The toughest nut to crack is Hermann Göring (Russell Crowe), Hitler’s second in command. Göring relents that Germany lost the war, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it’s all over. The two men get inside each other’s heads, seemingly developing a mutual respect for one another that might even

The Asylum has officially unveiled the trailer and details for its latest sci-fi action-adventure, Predator Wastelands . It promises a unique, folk-hero twist on the alien-hunter formula, offering audiences a high-octane spectacle. In the film, when an alien hunter arrives on Earth, it takes down a gang of warlords and unexpectedly becomes a folk hero to the oppressed locals. Now with their support, the mysterious alien sets its sights on the warlords’ ruthless leader. This narrative inversion sees the typically monstrous alien becoming an unlikely savior, trading the solitary jungle hunt for an alliance with humanity against a common, equally brutal enemy. This shift transforms the action from a fight for survival into a genuine uprising, led by a formidable intergalactic warrior. Predator Wastelands, written and directed by Ryan Ebert, stars David Chokachi, Johnny R. Mey, Vanessa Zanardi, Amulya Ananth, L.A. Williams, Aaron Groben, and Jeremiah A. Walker. The film has been released and is already generating buzz on social media. The trailer offers glimpses of the mysterious hunter’s advanced weaponry and cloaking abilities, set against a stark, post-apocalyptic backdrop. It prominently features the movie’s action sequences, showing the alien hunter unexpectedly intervening to save locals from oppressive warlords, thereby

Chávez, University of Virginia Press, 2025, $29.50/paperback, e-book available, 186 pages. Historian Thomas Chávez spent nine years overseeing the collection, transcription, translation, and publication of all documents pertinent to Benjamin Franklin in Spain’s archives. From these he’s written four books; Revolutionary Diplomacy is his latest. Chavez told the University of Virginia’s Author’s Corner that while many Americans know about France’s contributions to our fight for independence, fewer are aware that Spanish men, matériel, and “diplomatic muscle” also played a critical role. Chávez outlines the successes and failures of the American partnership with Spain during the Revolutionary War. The AI firm faced angry subscribers threatening legal action after it abruptly changed its policies as part of a settlement with Universal Music Group. Universal Music Group, Udio Courtesy Trending on Billboard Udio now says it will briefly allow subscribers to download their existing songs following widespread backlash to drastic changes made to the platform following the AI firm’s licensing settlement with Universal Music Group (UMG). The move comes in response to growing outrage — and even threats of legal action — from users after Udio struck the UMG deal, under which the AI company immediately barred its paying subscribers from downloading their own songs, even those they had created long before the UMG deal. Related In the statement posted late Thursday (Oct. 30) to Reddit, Udio said it would provide a 48-hour window starting Monday (Nov. 3) for all users to download their existing songs. Any songs downloaded during that time will be covered by the prior terms of service that existed before the UMG settlement. “Not going to mince words: we hate the fact we cannot offer downloads right now,” Udio CEO Andrew Sanchez wrote in that post. “We know the pain it causes to you, and we

Poot became a meme on 2015 Tumblr after a fan's over-exposed photo of Lovato was edited to look distorted Demi Lovato went all out for her Halloween costume this year, reviving an old joke about herself.. The singer revealed her costume on Thursday, dressing up as “Poot,” a years-old meme based on a Photoshopped image of Lovato. Poot was born back in 2015 on Tumblr when a fan took an over-exposed photo of Lovato and edited it to look distorted and almost bald, joking that it was the singer’s long-lost twin sister who was locked up in a basement.  “happy halloween,” Lovato wrote on Instagram. “been so locked in this era thought i’d let pootvato out 🔒” She also shared a TikTok video, showing off her basement digs while in costume. With Sabrina Carpenter’s “House Tour,” playing in the background, Lovato could be seen sweeping the floor and cowering in corners. “hi AD it’s me poot, welcome to my basement!” Lovato captioned the video. It’s not the first time Lovato has talked about the meme. In April, she posted a TikTok responding to a question about Poot’s whereabouts, joking that she was “never letting her out” of the basement. Previously, the singer revealed that she wasn’t fond of the meme but after learning that the image was Photoshopped, she joined in
