More countries consider social media bans for minors – Polskie Radio

10.02.2026 13:00 Several governments are moving to restrict minors’ access to social media platforms, following Australia’s lead, as concerns over children’s mental health and online safety mount across Europe and beyond. REUTERS/Hollie Adams/Illustration/File Photo On Safer Internet Day, observed annually on February 10, officials and experts highlighted growing alarm over the impact of social media on young users. A Polish study found teens spend more than three hours daily on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, with many holding up to six accounts. Australia in December became the first country to ban social media use for those under 16. Violations could result in fines of up to EUR 28 million for tech companies. Inspired by that move, Poland is considering similar legislation that would prohibit access to social media for children under 15. A draft law is expected by the end of February, backed by Education Minister Barbara Nowacka and lawmakers from the governing centrist Civic Coalition party.

Twitch streamer and Anran voice actor pushes Blizzard to rethink hero’s slimmer look

Blizzard has agreed to redesign Overwatch hero Anran after Twitch streamer and voice actor Fareeha Andersen criticised the character’s slimmer in-game appearance. Fans compared it to earlier depictions, sparking debate over beauty standards and the “Ozempic chic” trend. Game Director Aaron Keller confirmed changes are planned for Season 1, saying the team wants Anran to better reflect her fierce personality. Blizzard is reworking one of Overwatch’s newest heroes after a heated debate over her appearance spilled across social media. Anran, a fire-based DPS introduced during a recent spotlight event, quickly became the center of controversy when fans compared her in-game model to earlier animated depictions. Many argued that her sharper features and stronger build had been softened into a slimmer, more conventional look. The discussion gained momentum when Fareeha Andersen, the English voice actor behind Anran and a Twitch streamer known as AskFareeha, publicly addressed the backlash. Rather than dismiss the criticism, she acknowledged it. Within days, Overwatch Game Director Aaron Keller confirmed the team would revisit the character’s design, aiming to better align Anran’s visual identity with her personality and backstory. AskFareeha calls for bolder design as devs promise changes In a candid video, Andersen explained her hesitation before

Subway Canada Hijacks Big Game Night Streaming Culture with ‘Soup or Bowl’ | LBBOnline

On the biggest streaming night of the year, the night Canadians obsessively pass around 'working links' like contraband, Subway Canada decided to hijack the behaviour entirely with an idea centred around a simple play on words, 'Soup or Bowl'. As Canadians circulated authentic looking links across group chats, Subway introduced its own—intentionally crafted to mirror real gameday streams through identical naming conventions, platform cues, and frictionless access.   Instead of leading to the game, the link redirected audiences to Twitch, where they encountered “Soup or Bowl” a deliberately understated livestream featuring a Subway soup and bowl positioned in frame with no commentary or embellishment. The minimalism of the stream reinforced the misdirect while remaining native to the Twitch environment. Upon arrival, viewers were presented with a compelling value offer: 60% off a soup or bowl with the purchase of a footlong and were encouraged to stick around for secret code drops to unlock Subway gift cards—turning a moment of redirection into a timely value exchange.  The activation was seeded across Subway Canada’s social channels and supported by key cultural publishers, enabling the link to spread organically through the same digital pathways Canadians use on game day. It reflects the brand’s broader strategy to prioritise culturally timed, earned first initiatives that respond directly to real consumer behaviours rather than competing within high spend, high clutter advertising windows.  Denny Downie, head of marketing, Subway Canada said

Derrick Henry doubles down on recruiting A.J. Brown to Baltimore – Ravens Wire

Updated Feb. 8, 2026, 11:07 a.m. ET Derrick Henry doubles down on recruiting A.J. Brown to Baltimore Derrick Henry continued to fuel the A.J. Brown-to-Baltimore buzz during Super Bowl week. On Saturday before the Super Bowl, Henry appeared on Plaqueboymax's Twitch stream, 'Fit Faceoff,' and said, 'AJ to the Ravens.' It marked the second time Henry had mentioned bringing Brown to Baltimore this week, after he first brought it up on the 'Up & Adams' show. If anything were to happen, Brown would either need to be released by the Philadelphia Eagles or traded. It's still unclear whether the Eagles want to move on from him, but after a tumultuous 2025 season, it wouldn't be surprising if change is coming." Adding a player like A.J. Brown to an already loaded Ravens offense would obviously give first-year head coach Jesse Minter and first-year offensive coordinator Declan Doyle another elite weapon. If Baltimore ever made a move for Brown, it could also mean the Ravens would have to part ways with Rashod Bateman in a trade package. One idea: a Bateman-for-Brown deal with an extra draft pick heading to Philadelphia.

Ravens RB Derrick Henry tries to recruit A.J. Brown on Twitch stream – ClutchPoints

The Baltimore Ravens are entering uncharted territory during the 2026 offseason. Baltimore fired head coach John Harbaugh in January after leading the team for 18 years. Now the Ravens will be adjusting to a new normal under head coach Jesse Minter for the first time in decades. Perhaps part of that process could include pulling off a big trade for a veteran player. Ravens running back Derrick Henry sneakily pitched the idea of Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown landing in Baltimore this offseason on a recent Twitch stream. “AJ to the Ravens, bro” Henry said while signing off of the stream, per Ari Meirov. Henry and Brown were both on the same Twitch stream. It is clear that they have a close relationship and that Henry would welcome Brown joining the Ravens. Henry's plea comes after a tumultuous 2025 season for Brown and the Eagles. Philadelphia struggled to get Brown enough touches early in the season. When the Eagles' offense began to struggle, Brown was not quiet about what he thought needed to change. He wanted the football thrown his way more often. Otherwise, he wanted out of Philadelphia. In fact, Brown is rumored to have asked for a trade

Twitch Streamer Dan Dangler Claps Back After Nala Ray – Complex

OnlyFans millionaire Nala Ray is once again at the center of an internet firestorm after making a bold claim about her former line of work. In a recent interview with Fox News, Ray — who has since pivoted away from adult content and into faith-based lifestyle content — argued that OnlyFans and adult content creation shouldn’t be considered “real work.” Speaking about U.S. immigration policy and so-called “extraordinary ability” visas, Ray said, “OnlyFans work and adult content is not real work and shouldn’t be allowed, even to cross our borders to get even more infiltrated into our society.” “I don’t see adult content as good work,” she continued, adding that she does view other forms of social media creation as legitimate. “I do think that other people from other countries who do come to do real work on social media here, is a good thing. I don’t see why we should ever ban something like that because being on social media is hard work sometimes.” Some viewers applauded Ray for speaking out, particularly those who support her highly publicized shift toward Christianity. Others, however, were far less impressed — including Twitch streamer Dan Dangler, who quickly weighed in. On Tuesday

Creators Face Regional Structural Constraints Under Variable Global Platform Monetization Rules

Recent research highlights how inequalities in platform policies, advertiser demand, and payment infrastructure shape creator income outcomes around the world. A report published by Communiqué and TM Global titled “Africa Creator Economy Report 2.0” documents persistent gaps in how creators are paid across regions, with African creators facing materially different monetization outcomes from their counterparts in the United States and Europe.  While the report focuses on African markets, its findings describe platform mechanisms that apply broadly across the global creator economy. The report examines creator income, monetization access, and investment across multiple African countries and platforms. It finds that many of the constraints affecting African creators are not unique to the continent, but reflect how major platforms structure eligibility, advertising demand, and payouts by region. Earnings Disparities Tied to Platform Mechanics One data point highlighted in the report shows African creators typically earning less than $1 per 1,000 views, compared with $3 to $10 per 1,000 views reported for creators in the United States or Europe. The report links this gap to a combination of factors, including payment ineligibility for certain monetization programs, inconsistent CPMs (Cost per Mille) for locally generated traffic, and lower advertiser demand in African markets.
