How To Temporarily Deactivate Snapchat & How Long You Have To Reactivate

Deleting a Snapchat account is easy enough, but temporarily deactivating one might be a more suitable option. Here's what you need to know. Instead of deleting a Snapchat account completely, users can simply deactivate their account instead. However, there are some points to be aware of here, including how Snapchat’s deactivation (and deletion) process works. Not to mention, how long the user has to reactivate their Snapchat account before it is gone for good. Over the years, Snapchat has remained a hugely popular platform, and this is in spite of the increased competition within the social media space. While the other ‘big socials’ tend to offer different features and serve different purposes, some of those gaps have been closing. The most obvious example of this is Snapchat Stories. A feature that has largely been copied by most of the other social media competitors. Whether it is to try some of those competing features or just to take a break from Snapchat, users can quite easily deactivate their account on a temporary basis. In fact, deactivating an account is not any different to deleting one in the eyes of Snapchat, with the deactivation process the first step toward deleting an account. To…

TikTok, Snapchat, Facebook: NB tries to increase vaccine rates among those under 40

FREDERICTON -- New Brunswickers under the age of 40 have the lowest COVID-19 vaccine turnout rate but public health is trying different strategies to improve that. There are also vaccine clinics scheduled at the University of New Brunswick Fredericton campus pharmacy. They run once a week until the end of August. “They can get in and out really easily, so it’s accessible for them so that when we come back in the fall hopefully we’ll have as many students vaccinated as possible,” said Niko Coady, UNB Students’ Union vice president communications. “It kind of…

Heed Limit on Controlling Off-Campus Speech

More than 50 year ago in Tinker v. Des Moines Independent Community School District, the Supreme Court, reacting to Iowa teens being wrongfully suspended by a public high school for wearing antiwar armbands, ruled that disciplining kids for speech is unconstitutional unless their speech “substantially” disrupts school functions. In the intervening years, school-speech cases often held for school administrators, interpreting the word “disruption” broadly. However, just recently in Mahanoy Area School District v. B.L. the high court ruled 8-1 that school officials need to stay clear of disciplining off-campus speech, except under narrow circumstances and issued relatively clear guidelines for doing so. WhatsApp for iOS working on Snapchat-like camera feature

WhatsApp has been testing a few additional features to its iOS app with the ability to “view once” photos and videos sent as well a new redesigned in-app notification. According to always reliable WABetaInfo, after rolling out this feature for Android beta testers recently, WhatsApp is finally making the “view once” feature available for iOS beta users with version  2.21.140.9. With this feature available, users will be able to use the Snapchat-like feature to send photos and videos that destroy themselves after being seen. Although different from Snapchat, WhatsApp won’t say whether someone took a screenshot or not. The app won’t warn people, according to WABetaInfo, because there’s no safe way to make sure a screenshot hasn’t been taken, as there are several ways to bypass that. If you’re a WhatsApp beta tester, after updating the app from the TestFlight, try to send a photo or a video to see if the new feature is already available for you. When you send the media, it already disappears from your mobile phone and it will also disappear in the recipient’s phone when he opens it once. You are notified when the recipient opens the photo/video because the bubble message will report “Opened”.…
