My first job out of university was at one of the big investment banks in London. This feature came along with the latest beta version 11.36.0.31 but it is not yet clear if it is already available to everyone or not. A new Scan button, that was previously hidden on the camera view was moved to the middle of the bottom nav bar on the main home screen of the app.Tapping on that button will trigger a scan process and some results will pop up in a bottom slider. There you may see a list of related lenses so you can apply them immediately to the given context. Other Snapchat Scan features can be also triggered from the same slider. Washington: Similar to snaps on Snapchat, the instant messaging app WhatsApp is testing a new feature that would allow users to send disappearing photos and videos. According to Mashable, the attached images or videos will disappear after being viewed, which may prove good for confidential business-related chats. The feature has already rolled to WhatsApp beta testers on Android. Reportedly, if the test goes smoothly, the feature will be rolled out for the general public too. WABetaInfo reported that the new feature currently has some drawbacks.  For instance, a recipient can screenshot his or her phone to stay the image beyond the auto-delete. Additionally, if you have read receipts disabled, the sender can still see whether you’ve viewed a photograph or video. And, blocked contacts can still see single-use attachments if they’re a part of a standard group. However, there is no information on when this new feature might roll out globally, neither is there any mention of a rollout to iOS or desktop as of yet.

Members of a small Pennsylvania town are making noise after five teens in their community were photographed mockingly posing wearing White Lives Matter T-shirts and were reportedly only sent home from school early on the last day of the year. The image, which began circulating on Snapchat and Reddit, shows the group of teenage males who attended Montgomery Area High School wearing the shirts, in response to the Black Lives Matter movement and smiling, while one in the group poses with his two middle fingers raised. The students allegedly wore the shirts to school that day. “One of the most disrespectful things I’ve ever seen happen in Montgomery,” read a student’s Snapchat caption that was captured on Reddit. “Only reason you did this was to piss people off and look like a complete racist, not funny at all.” An anonymous source sent the image to VICE News, which reached out to the students in the image, the school’s vice-principal, the district’s superintendent, as well as various members of the Montgomery County System School Board for comment, but were met with no responses.
